St Paul's Primary School Rutherford - 8th March 2024
From the Principals Desk
Opening School Mass.
What a wonderful opening Mass and badging ceremony for our school. I was extremely proud of our Yr 6 students who sat with their buddies to help them with the cues throughout the celebration. Congratulations to our school captains, I look forward to meeting with all our captains on a regular basis to discuss their insights and understanding of what our students need.
Mini Vinnie's and Staff Commissioning Mass
This Sunday our Mini Vinnies students and our staff will be commissioned for their roles in 2024 by the parish community. The community bless staff as we recite our pledge and promise for the work that we do for the greater good of students and our community. Our school community is also welcome at this mass 8am Rutherford Parish Church.
Easter raffle
The P & F have begun the collection of eggs for the Easter raffle. This will be held on Wednesday of Week 9 March 27th. This is a fantastic celebration of Easter in our community. While the meaning of Easter lives with Christ and his sacrifice, the celebration of his resurrection is represented in the eggs that we hide and give to our families as a sign of new life.
Please send your donations to the office (we promise they are well guarded!)
We begin at 1:20pm seated around the outside of the COLA for an Easter Hat parade by our infants’ students.
At 1:40pm all classrooms are open for parents to visit classrooms to see the work that our students are so proud of.
At 2:10pm we will ring the bell for students to go to their areas for the drawing of the raffle prizes.

PBL (Positive Behaviours for Learning)
This fortnight our focus is: Learn and Let others Learn. To support our students’ development of these behaviours, each class participates in a PBL lesson about that specific behaviour focus with their class teacher. With the guidance of their teacher, students create a class goal and a personal PBL goal to work towards achieving for that given fortnight. All classroom rules are based on our school rules of being; Respectful, Responsible Learners.

If arrival before 8.20am is necessary parents must contact the principal.

NAPLAN 2024
In preparation for NAPLAN in Week 7, could all Year 3 and 5 students please bring a pair of plug-in headphones clearly labelled with their full name by the end of week 6. This enables teachers to confirm that headphones are working with school / BYOD laptops prior to assessments commencing on Wednesday 13th March.
Year 5:
It is an expectation that Year 5 students bring their BYOD device with them to school every day, particularly next week as these will be used for completion of the assessment. Please ensure that BYOD devices are fully charged during NAPLAN for use during the assessments.
Please ensure that students arrive at school on time as assessments will take place shortly after the morning bell each day.
Please see the NAPLAN timetable and the attached information sheet for parents and carers for further information. Alternate timetable arrangements have been made for any students with prearranged adjustments.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child's teacher.
